Regarding chains, a lot of people (even some HD owners, like my brother) still swear by 'em; but, I like the idea of the belt on the Savage.
Regarding the 800cc's, I guess it depends on how fast you wanna go. Most people get hurt or killed because they're just going too fast. And, without a windshield, fast isn't always that much fun, anyway -- at least, not for too long.
For my 2nd bike, the decision is between the Bonnie America, the HD Road King, & the Honda Valkyrie. Tough choice.
You might wanna check out this Triumph forum; there's some talk about the America; a few guys have it & like it. I wouldn't give up the Savage for it; but, I'd love to have both!
